Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar
(MA., Ph.D., M.Sc., D.Sc., Barrister-at-Law, L.L.D., D.Litt)
Popularly known as Baba Saheb, he was the principal architect of the Constitution of India and a founding father of the Republic of India. His life was a tireless campaign against social discrimination and for the rights of women and labour.
"My social philosophy may be said to be enshrined in three words: liberty, equality and fraternity... I have derived them from the teachings of my Master, the Buddha."
The Spiritual Foundation
BHSBS follows Dr. Ambedkar's vision that true social liberation requires roots in morality and reason rather than just political science. His decision to embrace the Dhamma in 1956 laid the foundation for the modern Buddhist movement in India, which our organization strives to carry forward.
