International Bhikku Training Center
Educational & Religious
About the Project
Empowering the Sangha through rigorous Dhamma education and leadership training for monks.
History & Impact
Objectives
The center was founded to revive the authentic Buddhist monastic tradition in India. Its primary goals include:
- Scriptural Mastery: Providing in-depth study of the Pali Tipitaka and Buddhist philosophy.
- Meditation Practice: Integrating theoretical knowledge with intensive Vipassana practice.
- Leadership Development: Training monks to serve as Dhamma teachers and community leaders in their respective regions.
Impact on the Sangha
By providing a stable environment for training, the center helps monks learn to face modern societal challenges while remaining rooted in the “holy life” (Brahmacariya). It serves as a modern successor to the great Buddhist universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila.
